Resolution awarding bid 12606 to Ferguson Waterworks for the purchase and delivery of fire hydrants (Enterprise Fund)

The Purchasing Division issued a request for quotes for fire hydrants on behalf of the Water/Irrigation Division. The solicitation was advertised nationally through Public Purchase.com, Purchasing's electronic procurement system, and 122 vendors were invited to submit quotes.
Bids were due July 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and were publicly opened in the Yakima Council Chambers.
One bid was received by Ferguson Waterworks. The Purchasing Division reviewed the bid for responsiveness, and the Water/Irrigation Division subsequently evaluated it to ensure the products met the City's operational requirements. Because Ferguson Waterworks submitted the only responsive bid from a responsible vendor, awarding this bid to Ferguson Waterworks is recommended and is considered to be in the best interest of the City of Yakima.
The estimated annual amount for the procurement of fire hydrants is $142,420 and is funded by the Water/Irrigation Division.
