Discuss, consider, and act upon Interlocal Agreement No. 26-50 through the City of Forney authorizing the Town of Sunnyvale to utilize MB Concrete for concrete construction and repair services in an amount not to exceed $150,000 and authorizing the Town Manager to execute any necessary related documents.
Staff recommends approval.
The Town of Sunnyvale has an existing Interlocal Agreement with the City of Forney, Texas, identified as ILA No. 26-50, which provides the Town with access to cooperative purchasing and contracting opportunities, including the use of qualified vendors available through the agreement.
MB Concrete is an approved vendor available to the Town through the City of Forney Interlocal Agreement. The Public Works Department intends to utilize MB Concrete for concrete construction, replacement, repair, and related concrete work associated with Town infrastructure and maintenance needs.
The Interlocal Agreement was voted on, and passed, by council at the September 14, 2026 council meeting and was fully executed by the City of Forney and the Town of Sunnyvale on September 18, 2026.
The anticipated work may include, but is not limited to, the repair and replacement of concrete sidewalks, streets, curbs and gutters, drainage structures, utility-related concrete improvements, pavement repairs, and other concrete improvements identified by the Public Works Department.
Utilizing MB Concrete through the existing interlocal agreement provides the Town with an established procurement mechanism and allows Public Works to address concrete maintenance and repair needs without having to solicit a separate contract for each individual project.
The Town Charter requires Town Council approval for expenditures exceeding $50,000 within a fiscal year, therefore, staff is requesting Council authorization to utilize MB Concrete for concrete-related work in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for the fiscal year 2026-2027.
Individual work assignments and purchases will remain subject to applicable Town purchasing procedures, available funding, and the terms and conditions of Interlocal Agreement No. 26-50.
Expenditures associated with this authorization will be charged to budget line item 110-5011-53108.
