Consider and act upon an Interlocal Agreement between the Town of Sunnyvale and the City of Forney for the cooperative use of the City of Forney's contracts with Anderson Asphalt & Concrete Paving, LLC for asphalt work and MB Concrete Construction, Inc. for concrete work.
Staff recommends approval.
The Town of Sunnyvale Public Works Department periodically requires asphalt and concrete repair and maintenance services throughout the Town. Utilizing cooperative purchasing opportunities and interlocal agreements allows the Town to obtain necessary services efficiently while leveraging competitively procured contracts.
The City of Forney has completed the competitive bid process and selected Anderson Asphalt & Concrete Paving, LLC for asphalt work and MB Concrete Construction, Inc. for concrete work. The proposed Interlocal Agreement would allow the Town of Sunnyvale to piggyback on and utilize these existing contracts, subject to the terms and conditions of the respective agreements.
Approval of the Interlocal Agreement will provide the Town with additional resources for completing asphalt and concrete repairs and maintenance projects as needed without conducting a separate procurement process for each service.
There is no direct financial impact associated with approval of the Interlocal Agreement. Costs for future asphalt and concrete work performed under the respective contracts will be based on the approved contract pricing and will be funded through available and appropriately budgeted departmental funds. Any expenditures will be subject to applicable Town purchasing and budget requirements.
