Discuss, consider and act upon the second reading of Ordinance 2026-13 of the Town of Sunnyvale, Texas ratifying the property tax increase reflected in the Town's fiscal year 2026-2027 budget, providing a savings clause and providing for an effective date.
Staff recommends approval.
The Town Council adopted the budget in a previous item and now must ratify the budget with the proposed increase in property tax revenue per Tax Code Section 26.
This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $233,660 or 2.3%, and of that amount, $272,391 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
The increase in property tax revenue included in the adopted budget will fund the Town's operations and debt service obligations.
