The Policy and Finance Committee discussed proposals to be considered for the City's 2027 Legislative Agenda at its August 12, 2026 committee meeting and recommended consideration for the following priorities.

Transportation; funding for projects and protecting them to ensure they can continue to advance.

City-County Highway Fund; address declining motor fuel tax revenues and rising street maintenance costs by exploring ways to increase revenue or identify alternative funding sources.

Flood Maps; seeking state and federal funding for flood mitigation projects.

Rights-of-Way Control; concerning the City’s ability to control franchise utility placement

Waiver of Fees; concerning the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) to offer points for low-income housing.
