Acceptance of sponsorship and in-kind donations for 2026 Slice of Shoreview Days
To adopt resolution 26-76 accepting donations for the 2026 Slice of Shoreview Days event.
The City of Shoreview may accept gifts for the benefit of its citizens, in line with the donor's specified terms. According to Minnesota Statute 465.03, the City Council must approve these gifts through a resolution.
Slice of Shoreview Days is an annual festival that celebrates the quality of life in Shoreview. Held over the fourth weekend of July at Island Lake Park, this three-day event features a variety of family-friendly activities, including an inflatable area, carnival, parade, art and craft show, food vendors, displays and demonstrations, live music, entertainment, fireworks, and much more.
Funding for Slice of Shoreview Days comes from contributions by local businesses and individuals, as well as support from the City of Shoreview. The event is free for all attendees, with complimentary parking available. Thanks to a healthy budget reserve built by the Slice of Shoreview Days committee, they can pay for entertainment and contracts in advance.
The Slice of Shoreview Days was a tremendous success again this year and raised $52,676.25 in sponsorships and in-kind donations.
We recommend that the city council adopt resolution 26-76, accepting the donations for the 2026 Slice of Shoreview Days event and expressing appreciation to all the sponsors and organizations that donated services for the event.
