Joint city council and parks and recreation commission meeting.
GENERAL BUSINESS
The city council has requested to meet with the parks and recreation commission to discuss what objectives the commission should prioritize over the next two years. At the last meeting, the parks and recreation commission along with staff reviewed the previous plan and updated it for the next two years.
The objectives are listed in two categories. The projects category lists priories developed from the master park system plan and capital improvement plan development process. The initiatives category is a list of policy development and programs that impact both the parks system as well as the community center operations.
At the last commission meeting it was discussed that some of the objectives while important, were very general in nature. An additional category of ongoing focus areas was created moving forward to recognize these objectives.
