City staff will present an overview of the existing parkland dedication requirements, along with a set of options for Council’s consideration. The Parkland Dedication ordinance is located within the Unified Development Code (UDC). Because the ordinance was not revised as part of the recent UDC update process, it still reflects prior standards and has not been evaluated against current priorities.

A review of the ordinance was identified as a priority item in the Council’s Action Plan. The purpose of this review is to ensure the ordinance aligns with the City’s park development goals and capital investments, so that land and fees collected through new development contribute meaningfully to the park system residents use and expect.
