APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL FROM RAFTELIS FINANCIAL CONSULTANTS, INC. TO PROVIDE CONSULTING SERVICES TO ESTABLISH A RATE FOR UTILIZATION OF THE VILLAGE'S DEEP INJECTION WELL
Raftelis provided rate study services to the Village of Indiantown (Village) for the 2024 water and wastewater utility rates that were recommended and approved. With the Village in the process of building a Deep Injection Well (DIW), there will be an opportunity for other businesses to utilize the DIW for disposal of their waste. Use of the DIW is regulated and permitted through the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
The cost estimate for the development of the DIW disposal rate is $25,000 and is based upon various tasks as reflected on Attachment B of the proposal. Allowing for other entities to have access to the DIW and setting an established rate will create revenue for the utility enterprise fund that will offset the expense for the study over time.
STATEMENT:
The $25,000 will be expended within the utility enterprise fund.
The Village Council approve the proposal from Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc. (Raftelis) in the amount of $25,000.
