Emergency Repair to the Rolling Canal- H and J Contracting Inc. 

Following an excessive rainfall event on Saturday, September 26, 2026, and Sunday, September 27, 2026, a breach occurred at the rapid infiltration basins at the Village’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, placing critical utility infrastructure at risk and necessitating immediate emergency repairs at the Rolling Canal site.

To mitigate the potential for further damage, protect critical infrastructure, and restore proper water management and flow, H & J Contracting was engaged to perform the necessary emergency remediation work. The contractor completed the required repairs to address the breach and restore the affected area to appropriate operating conditions.

The emergency work was necessary to protect the Village’s wastewater treatment infrastructure, minimize the risk of additional damage, and support the continued safe and reliable operation of the Village’s wastewater management system.

The total fiscal impact associated with the emergency remediation work is $20,712.50. Funding will be allocated from the Public Works Department’s adopted Fiscal Year budget, Account No. 4000-530-535000-00-6300-00 (Infrastructure).

Motion to approve the emergency remediation work performed by H & J Contracting at the Rolling Canal site following the breach of the rapid infiltration basins at the Village’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, in the amount of $20,712.50, and authorize payment from the Public Works Department’s adopted Fiscal Year budget.
