Executive Summary:

The construction of the water main public improvements for Hidden Lakes has been completed in substantial accordance with the plans and specifications on file with the Engineering Division of the City of Iowa City.

Background / Analysis:

Hidden Lakes is a 50-lot residential subdivision located on 73.63 acres between Naples Avenue SW and Dane Road SW, north of the Lacina Meadows subdivision. Hidden Lakes is located outside of City limits.

City water was previously extended to the Lacina Meadows subdivision and the Woodland Ridge subdivision which are outside of City limits since the existing water supply wells needed to be abandoned due to radionuclides above the maximum contaminant level. Hidden Lakes is also located outside of City limits, immediately north of Lacina Meadows. The City agreed to provide water to Hidden Lakes since it has the same source of contaminated groundwater as Lacina Meadows and is adjacent to the existing water main that was extended for Lacina Meadows and Woodland Ridge.
