Workforce Development Month was created in 2005 by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) to raise awareness about the importance of our industry to a growing national economy. Originally celebrated in May, NAWDP moved the designation to September in 2012. The U.S. Senate passed a resolution naming September 2022 Workforce Development Month. The Workforce Development Board (WDB) provides oversight to the highly-skilled workforce development professionals at the America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) and also provides critical links to our community between businesses looking to hire the pool of job seekers, and education, training, and support resources.
San Benito County would like to recognize the vital role workforce development plays in supporting businesses, preparing residents for successful careers, and strengthening the local economy. The Board further recognizes the contributions and dedication of the SBC Workforce Development Board, America's Job Center of California staff, employers, educators, and community partners in advancing workforce development throughout the County.
