1. Approve amended Glassy Winged Sharpshooter (GWSS) Agreement #24-0469-008-SF-1, with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to perform survey, inspection control for the emergency work in response to the Burchell Nursery/Costco GWSS detection to extend the expiration date through September 30, 2027 and increase amount by $11,158.77 for a new total not to exceed $26,957.37; and
2. Authorize the Chair, County Executive Officer (CEO), or designee to sign the contract.

CONSENT AGENDA
On October 28, 2025, the Board of Supervisors approved a grant with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) contracted with the County of San Benito to conduct inspections, surveys, and trapping activities for compliance with the Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter (GWSS). The one-year agreement authorized reimbursement to the county for regulatory-related activities for the GWSS program. The term of the contract is July 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Work under this agreement started July 1, 2025. The agreement is hereby amended to extend the expiration date from September 30, 2026, to a new expiration date of September 30, 2027. The extension and increase of funds are necessary to perform survey, inspection and control of GWSS while also preserving the ability to amend the agreement when funding becomes available for the emergency work in response to the Burchell Nursery/Costco GWSS detection. The anticipated revenue and expense have been budgeted in the Agricultural Commissioner's Budget for FY 2026/2027. The GWSS Agreement is hereby amended to increase by $11,158.77 for a new total not to exceed $26,957.37. The department invoices CDFA monthly for expenditures incurred for the program, work under this agreement began July 1,2025.

July 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, Contract #24-0469-008-SF, in the amount of $15,708.60.
The GWSS program is 70-80% sub vented through this contract. The 20-30 % cost to the General Fund aids in the Department's need to meet the maintenance of effort (MOE).
