RESOLUTION NO. 2026-124
CONSENT AGENDA
The District Attorney's Office is located on the second floor at 419 Fourth Street, Hollister, California. The building was constructed in 1996, and the existing second-floor carpet is original to the facility. After approximately 30 years of continuous use, the carpet has exceeded its expected useful life and has experienced significant wear and deterioration due to age and daily use. Recent evaluations also identified localized areas of deteriorated subflooring that require repair prior to the installation of new flooring. Addressing these deficiencies as part of the project will help prevent future flooring failures, extend the service life of the new flooring system, and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
The proposed project includes the replacement of approximately 4,068 square feet of carpet, replacement of bathroom vinyl flooring within the project area, localized subfloor repairs, HAZMAT assessment, incidental plumbing materials, project management, and a contingency to address unforeseen conditions encountered during construction.
The County budgeted $350,000 in the FY 2026–27 Maintenance Budget (Budget Unit 101.70.1290) for emergency repairs and eligible CIP and maintenance needs. The total estimated project cost is $53,000, funded by $45,000 from the District Attorney Asset Forfeiture Fund (G/L Account 427.45.4420.1000) and $8,000 from the FY 2026–27 Maintenance Budget (Budget Unit 101.70.1290).
Because this project was not included in the adopted FY 2026–27 Capital Improvement Program, Board approval is requested to add the project to the FY 2026–27 CIP schedule, approve the project budget, and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or designee to execute the necessary budget adjustments, budget transfers, contracts, amendments, supplemental agreements, purchase orders, and other related project documents necessary to implement the project, provided total project expenditures do not exceed the approved project budget of $53,000.

2. Approve a total project budget of $53,000.00 for the District Attorney’s Office Second Floor Interior Improvements Project; and
