At the Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors on June 30, 2026, County Executive Officer Esperanza Colio Warren presented the 2026-2027 Interim Proposed Budget (Item 3.G). As part of this item, the Board unanimously approved $352,000 in one-time funding for urgent repairs at Veterans Park, which is split into two distinct categories.
First, $87,000 was allocated for general park repairs, which includes a required back-flow repair, an electrical upgrade, tree trimming, ADA sidewalk improvements, and painting and repairing the brick around the BBQ pits.
Second, $265,000 was allocated for baseball field improvements, specifically for a restroom remodel, fencing around the Babe Ruth field, and parking lot repairs. A detailed breakdown of these approved projects is provided in Veterans Park Repair Attachment.
This report serves to update the Veterans Park Commission on the current progress, timelines, and execution status of each approved repair project.
The $352,000 urgent park needs will be funded by Park Impact Funds.
Staff recommends that the Veterans Park Commission accept the report of the necessary repairs for Veterans Park.
