2. Authorize Chair, County Executive Officer, or designee to sign all documents pertaining to the financial award.

CONSENT AGENDA
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has allocated $588,903 to the County through the FoPH funding initiative for the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The FoPH initiative is intended to strengthen and modernize California's public health infrastructure by supporting local health jurisdictions in building organizational capacity, enhancing workforce development, and improving foundational public health services.
The local health jurisdiction intends to use these funds to support the recruitment and retention of permanent public health staff and to strengthen the County's public health infrastructure in accordance with CDPH requirements. The allocation may also be used to support necessary equipment, supplies, and administrative needs, including facility space, furnishings, and travel, to further enhance the division's capacity to deliver essential public health services and address current and future community health needs.
The recommended action authorizes the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, the CEO, or designee to execute all agreements, certifications, and other documents necessary to accept and administer the FoPH allocation on behalf of the County for the funding period.
CDPH has allocated $588,903 in FoPH funding to the County for the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The funding is included in the Agency's adopted budget and no budget adjustment is required.

There is no impact to the County General Fund. The allocation will support eligible public health workforce and infrastructure activities, which may include recruitment and retention of permanent public health staff, subject to County approval of any associated positions.
