The pump for Municipal Well 1 has recently experienced issues that after preliminary review appear related to the pumping of excess sand.

Staff recommends completing a diagnostic evaluation on the pump and well infrastructure, which includes the possibility that the well or pump needs rehabilitation, as identified in the attached engineering services proposal.

Costs for this type of specialty work can vary significantly depending on the status the existing pump and well conditions. The quote/bid will be prepared to accommodate unknown outcomes to the extent possible.

The cost for the engineering services and future work would be paid from the Water Fund which has sufficient funds.
