Geographic Information Systems (GIS) combine maps, location based data, and analytical tools to help visualize and better understand information about the community. The City maintains GIS data and applications supporting Public Works, Community Development, Parks, Fire, Police, Library services, infrastructure management, planning, and public information. The presentation will demonstrate the Coos Bay GIS Web Map, City Amenities Map, Flood Hazard Map, and Heritage Resource StoryMap, and briefly highlight future opportunities for GIS and emerging technology.
