Consideration to Ratify Coos Bay Downtown Association Representative to the Tree Board

 
SUMMARY:

The Coos Bay Downtown Association (CBDA) representative position is open and CBDA recommends April Keeley. 

ACTION REQUESTED:

If it pleases Council, ratify Coos Bay Downtown Association representative April Keeley to the Tree Board.

BACKGROUND:

The Tree Board, Coos Bay Municipal Code 8.30, was established by Ordinance No. 181 for the purpose of providing regulations for the planning and protection of trees and shrubs within the City of Coos Bay. The tree board shall be appointed by the city council and shall consist of up to eight members.  One member of the tree board may be a member of the city council.  One member of the tree board shall also be a parks commissioner. At least one member of the tree board shall be a representative from the field of arboriculture, landscape architecture, or otherwise have a background and professional knowledge of trees and their care. One member of the tree board shall be designated by the board of the Coos Bay Downtown Association. The balance of the tree board shall be citizens with an interest in trees.
