CITY OF KINGMAN
COMMUNICATION TO COUNCIL

TO:
Honorable Mayor and City Council

FROM:
Jason Moquin

MEETING DATE:
September 15, 2026

AGENDA SUBJECT:

Acceptance of Right-of-Way Triangle Dedication at the Southwest Corner of Flying Fortress Parkway and Lamar Road Intersection

SUMMARY:

Terms of the “Change of Access” Agreement with ADOT for constructing the Flying Fortress Parkway T.I. on Interstate 40 limit the number of access points onto Flying Fortress Parkway to the north and south of I-40.  Along the Ranchitas property on the west side of Flying Fortress Parkway, only two access points are permitted – full access at the Grand Canyon Road intersection, and “right-in, right-out” access at Lamar Road. In order to construct the curb returns for the Lamar Road intersection, a 5’ x 5’ right-of-way triangle is needed on the Southwest Corner of the intersection. The property owner of the parcel from which the triangle is needed have donated this triangle of right-of-way to the City of Kingman, in the interest of having the Lamar Road curb returns constructed as part of ongoing construction projects on Flying Fortress Parkway (dedication documents are attached).

FISCAL IMPACT:

The R/W Triangle is a donation from the property owner to the City. There is no fiscal impact.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval the R/W Triangle dedication.

SUGGESTED MOTION:
