CITY OF KINGMAN
COMMUNICATION TO COUNCIL

TO:
Honorable Mayor and City Council

FROM:
Doug Breckenridge

MEETING DATE:
September 15, 2026

AGENDA SUBJECT:

Kingman Municipal Airport Rehabilitation of Three Airfield Entrance Driveways

SUMMARY:

This agenda item is for consideration and approval to reconstruct 3 driveways providing access to the airfield at Kingman Airport. Three airfield entrance driveways at the Kingman Municipal Airport are raveling, creating a Foreign Object and Debris (F.O.D.) risk that could damage aircraft propellers.  Milling and repaving these roads will mitigate the risk of F.O.D. being transferred onto the airfield through vehicles' tires.

The City has received multiple requests from tenants and a recommendation from the Airport and Industrial Park Advisory Commission to rehabilitate three airfield entrance driveways.  This proposal is for an amount not exceed $246,565.00.

This is an approved project in the FY2026-27 Adopted Budget and 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan and is budgeted at $250,000 in the Airport Capital Projects Fund.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There will be a fiscal impact of $246,565 to the Airport Capital Projects Fund.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the execution of the agreement with Sunland Asphalt & Construction, LLC to repave three airfield entrance driveways for an amount not to exceed $246,565.00.

SUGGESTED MOTION:

Motion to approve the execution of the agreement with Sunland Asphalt & Construction, LLC to repave three airfield entrance driveways for an amount not to exceed $246,565.00.
