Background of Issue:
SDCL 35-1-5.5 allows the governing body to approve a permit to consume alcohol beverages on property owned by the public. The permit may not exceed 24 hours and the hours of authorized consumption may not exceed those permitted for on-sale licensees.
This is for an adult program at the Library and the program is free to the public. Consumption permits are allowed if there is no fee.
Library Director Brittany Moeller has additional details on the permit.
