1st Reading Ordinance 963 - Parking during Snow removal alert

This section of the code book needs to be updated for a couple of reasons.  Section A1 needs to be updated to 2 inches.  Public Works Director has asked it to be changed back to 2 inches as all signs in town say 2 inches. Prior to the last change in this section in 2011 it was 2 inches.  For some reason it was changed to 3 inches.  Staff is asking to be changed back to 2 inches.

The alert notification needs to be updated as well.  Last winter is was noticed by MCSO that we had to announce on the local news media because of the wording of the ordinance.  We primarily use text message and Facebook to get the word out on a snow alert.  The new wording changes the language to OR so we can use local news media, text message, social media OR whatever other sources are available.....   This gives us more flexibility on snow alert announcements and makes it clear that an alert is automatic if the accumulation of snow is 2 inches or more.
