Consider request from Animal Shelter to accept $17,000.00 in State non-matching grant funds from the Georgia Department of Agriculture for assistance with cat and dog sterilizations for FY2027.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture has issued awards to local Animal Shelters for the 2027 Grant Cycle and the Cherokee County Animal Shelter received $17,000 in non-matching funds.  These funds will be used during the FY2027 budget for dog and cat reproductive sterilization support.

A Budget Amendment in the amount of $17,000 is required to allocate the state grant funds to the Animal Shelter FY2027 Budget.
