Amendment: Item Removed (postponed to October 20, 2026). Technology Agreement for the Sheriff's Office.
October 6, 2026
Jacqueline Meisner
Consider request from Sheriff's Office for a consolidated agreement with Axon Enterprise Inc. for Sheriff’s Office existing and future public safety technology, equipment, software, licensing, support, and related services.
The Sheriff’s Office currently utilizes multiple Axon products and services, including TASER, body-worn cameras, Fleet 3 in-car camera systems, Axon Evidence, associated software, licensing, equipment, integrations, training, and support. These products are currently managed through separate agreements and purchasing arrangements.
The proposed agreement will consolidate the existing Axon technology into one comprehensive 10-year agreement. Consolidation will provide a standardized contractual structure, predictable annual costs, coordinated equipment replacement cycles, and continued compatibility across the existing Axon technology ecosystem.
Maintaining a single integrated platform supports continuity in digital evidence collection, storage, management, officer safety, training, and operational workflows. Transitioning to another vendor would require substantial replacement or duplication of existing equipment, software, integrations, training, administrative processes, and evidence-management infrastructure.
The proposed agreement has an initial annual cost of $3,441,563.00 beginning in FY2027 with a total 10-year contractual value of $37,287,493.75. This agreement will replace and supersede all Sheriff’s Office’s existing Axon contracts, consolidating all current Axon products and services into one comprehensive agreement.
This project is included in the Sheriff's Office FY2027 operating budget.
