Consider request from Fire & Emergency Services to purchase three vehicles to be outfitted as emergency response vehicles, in the total amount of $252,941.70. The request includes the purchase of three Ford F-250s from Alan Jay Fleet Sales at a cost of $52,928.40 per vehicle, and upfitting of the vehicles by Gellman Upfitting, LLC, at a cost of $23,309.00 per vehicle.
Through the FY2027 budgeting process, overtime to staff two quick response vehicles during peak hours (Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) is included to combat Fire & Emergency Services growing call volume. Currently, Fire & ES operates a quick response vehicle out of Station 9, which is referred to as Rescue 9. Fire & ES is requesting to purchase three identical frontline response vehicles. The current Rescue 9 will replace a 26-year-old technical rescue frontline vehicle as part of the department's replacement program.
Fire & ES received quotes to purchase the emergency response vehicles, fully upfitted and turnkey, and compared them to the price of purchasing and outfitting them individually. Pricing for all three is as follows:
CCFES to outfit (using multiple vendors) - $252,941.70
Alan Jay Fleet Sales - fully outfitted - $256,551.00
Williams Fire - fully outfitted - $324,987.60
Vendors for CCFES to outfit:
Alan Jay Fleet Sales (cost per truck) - $52,928.40
Gellman Upfitting (cost to upfit per truck) - $23,309.00
America's Truck (cost for custom camper top per truck) - $4,776.50
D&D Manufacturing (cost for divider per truck) - $1,500.00
MC Graphics (NTE cost for graphics per truck) - $1,800.00
Fire & Emergency Services obtained quotes utilizing Sourcewell, State Contract and standard pricing on the Ford F-250s. Alan Jay Fleet Sales quote is below both the Sourcewell and State Contract pricing.
