Consider request from Fire & Emergency Services to accept a payment from the Georgia Department of Community Health for the Ground Ambulance Upper Payment Limit Supplemental Program in the amount of $185,101.00 with a corresponding Budget Amendment in the same amount, and request to transfer $61,768.00 of the non-federal portion of the payment to the State of Georgia as required by the program.
The Department of Community Health (DCH) offers a supplemental payment adjustment program to government ground ambulance agencies in Georgia to increase funding of critical services for the Medicaid population. Fire & Emergency Services completed all necessary paperwork for the Georgia Medicaid Fee-for-Service Ground Ambulance Upper Payment Limit Supplement Program. A supplemental payment was awarded in 2025 with the final reimbursement being awarded November 26, 2026, in the amount of $185,101.00.
As part of the program, the County is required to transfer the non-federal share of the approved funds to the State in the amount of $61,768.00. The amount retained by Fire & Emergency Services is $123,333.00.
A budget amendment is necessary to accept the funds and allocate these to an expense account.
