National Friends of Libraries week is October 18-24, 2026. It celebrates the contributions of the groups that volunteer their time and talents to support their local libraries and enhance library services for their communities.

The Friends of the Buda Library have contributed to the success of the Buda Public Library since their establishment in 1992 through advocacy, spreading awareness, and raising funds.

Over the past ten years, the Friends have contributed almost $170,000 to the library, allowing for the provision of educational and cultural programs for all ages, more books and other library materials for patrons to check out, electronic resources that expand the community's access to information, and more.
