Recognizing the City of Buda as a Texas Tourism Friendly Certified Community to be accepted by Community Relations & Tourism Department representatives
The City of Buda has been designated a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Office of the Governor’s Texas Travel Department. The certification recognizes Buda’s commitment to supporting tourism, strengthening the local economy, preserving the community’s character, and creating a welcoming experience for visitors.
A City employee took the initiative to pursue the certification, with the goal of aligning the designation with the completion of Buda’s Tourism Strategic Plan, which was presented to the Buda City Council on August 4, 2026. Together, the certification and strategic plan demonstrate the City’s continued commitment to cultivating tourism through its historic downtown, community events, outdoor recreation, cultural heritage, local businesses, and family-friendly atmosphere.
The City will formally recognize this achievement through a proclamation presented at the September 1, 2026, City Council meeting.
