The Parks and Recreation Department will provide a staff report highlighting recently completed projects, ongoing initiatives, operational accomplishments, maintenance activities, and upcoming projects throughout the City's park system. 

Buda Championship Park 

City Staff is in negotiations with the contractor and will be able to provide an update on Sept. 16 as we finalize the new completion date. Buda Championship Park has power and all concession stand material should be ready to install.

Garison Park

Contractor has removed all existing turf and cleaning the park. Started the installation of the waterline in the right of way.

City Park Phase II-

Fencecrete has completed the backfill of the posts but needing to come back and remount a gate due to its improper installation. Staff has engaged Muscoe Lighting for a mockup of permanent light installation for the main lawn at City Park and are waiting for said mockup. 

Citywide

• Removed construction signs on Garlic Creek Trail left by contractor. 
• Assisted with shutting down Stagecoach Park because of the Sunfield Effluent Force Main project construction.
• Shut down the splashpads for the season and to evaluate additional repair needs.
• Assisted the Buda Main Street Program with prepping areas for wildflower seeding.

Championship Park (Sportsplex) construction progress.
Garison Park Capital Improvement Project updates.
City Park Phase II improvements.
Trail and park maintenance projects.
Recreation programming and special events.
Equipment acquisitions and facility improvements.
