REPORT TO:
Inter-Neighborhood Council
FROM:
Takami Clark, Communications & Engagement Manager
SUBJECT:
MEETING DATE:
September 10, 2026
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Citizen Advisory Board/Commission
RECOMMENDATION:
STRATEGIC PLAN:
7.3 Best Practices, Creativity & Foresight: Utilize best practices, innovative approaches, and constantly anticipate new directions and changes relevant to the governance of the City. Be also adaptable and flexible with an outward focus on the customer and an external understanding of the issues as others may see them.
BACKGROUND:
All annual reports are now in! We shared the report data with the Commission for their review. Here are a few takeaways we noted:
- There is good appreciation for the work Emily is doing, but a frequent desire to see time dedicated solely to neighborhoods.
- Many neighbors are interested in seeing how they can use technology to communicate better.
- Many groups appreciate the Coffee/Walks with a Commissioner or seeing a Commissioner at their meetings. Some mentioned wanting to see the Commission Liaison advocate more on behalf of INC and see the Commission act in INC's interests.
- Recruiting new and diverse members remains a challenge, and not everyone has the time to devote to a dedicated position in the neighborhood.
- Many want to see increased financial support from the City for gatherings.
