Agreement - Vendor/Contract
Authorize the City Manager to Sign a Professional Services Agreement with Sanbell for Preliminary Design of the North Frontage Road Wastewater and Shared-Use Pathway Improvements.
The North Frontage Road Shared-Use Pathway and Wastewater Improvements Project has been approved as project WWIF20 and A&C024 in the FY27-31 Capital Improvement Plan and consists of both trail and sewer improvements. The Project’s trail component (A&C024) aims to develop a multipurpose pathway along the north side of Frontage Road between Valley Center Spur and the Cherry River Fishing Access Site. The proposed share-use pathway will add a key link to the existing network of trails in and around Bozeman and the Gallatin Valley. The second component of this project will be the Frontage Road Sewer Interceptor Improvements (WWIF20), which include replacing portions of the existing parallel trunk sewer, including upsizing 4,725 ft of existing pipe to 36-inch diameter pipe and installation of new parallel trunk sewer in areas with single trunk sewer main, including 6,200 ft of 27-inch to 36-inch diameter pipe.
The scope of the professional services agreement is for consulting services for the planning and pre-design of the shared use pathway while considering City planned sewer pipeline improvements along North Frontage Road. In addition to the pre-design for the share-use path, this project also includes providing pre-design services to determine the scope of work and timing of sewer pipeline improvements along North Frontage Road. To coordinate and leverage the synergy between the two planned capital improvements, it’s important to complete a comprehensive pre-design that accounts for share-use pathway and sewer pipeline improvements; and the collective needs of right of way acquisition and public outreach to effectively implement capital improvements.
None.
As suggested by the Commission.
The cost of preliminary engineering is $208,463.47. City staff have reviewed the scope and fee proposal and found it to be commensurate with the work involved. Funding for this project has been appropriated in the FY27 budget as projects WWIF20 and A&C024 for a total amount of $804,000 and paid for from the Wastewater Fund, and Arterial and Collector District Fund.
