SUBJECT:
Approval of the CRA Advisory Board Future Assignments
At the June 9, 2026 Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board Meeting, the CRA Board approved a motion authorizing the CRA Advisory Board (CRAB) to discuss and develop ideas related to future programming initiatives, redevelopment projects, economic development strategies, and other opportunities that may benefit the CRA area.
The CRA Advisory Board serves an important role in providing community-based input and recommendations to the CRA Board. By drawing upon the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of its members, the Advisory Board can help identify innovative ideas and opportunities that support the goals and objectives of the Community Redevelopment Plan.
At its August 19, 2026 meeting, the CRA Advisory Board (CRAB) reached consensus to explore the following assignments:
-
Evaluation of CRA Parks: Evaluate public parks within the CRA boundaries, including how they are currently utilized, and identify opportunities to increase activation and promote greater use through activities and programming.
-
Quality of Place and Business Attraction: Explore focused strategies and opportunities to attract new businesses to the developing downtown area and support the creation of a vibrant and desirable business environment.
If approved by the CRA Board, the CRAB will begin a more in-depth review of these topics at its October 21, 2026 meeting.
- Approve the two new assignments and have the CRAB report back to the CRA Board at a future meeting date.
- Do not approve the two new assignments and provide further direction.
