Proposed Resolution No. R26-188- Approving the License Agreement for Use of County-Owned Property with Palm Beach County for Public Safety Radio Communications Rack Space.
Staff recommends approval of the proposed Resolution No. R26-188.
The City of Boynton Beach Police Department is requesting approval of a License Agreement with Palm Beach County for the use of rack space at the Palm Beach County Communications Shelter located at 515 NW 14th Court, Boynton Beach.
The agreement provides the City with authorized rack space for the installation and operation of equipment supporting the City's public safety radio communications system. The designated premises include two (2) rack units of space on an existing County equipment rack, with provisions allowing the City to request additional rack space, subject to County approval and availability.
Approval of this agreement will support the continued operation and resiliency of the City's public safety radio communications infrastructure by allowing City radio system equipment to be located within the Palm Beach County Communications Shelter.
The arrangement provides connectivity to the regional P25 Radio System network and core and supports reliable communications used by public safety personnel. Locating the equipment within the County communications facility also provides the City with an authorized location for equipment necessary to maintain interoperability and continuity of public safety radio communications. The agreement permits the City to request additional rack space if operational requirements change during the term.
