Certified Local Government (CLG) Report.

The Certified Local Government (CLG) Program intends to identify, evaluate, and protect historic properties. Designation as a certified local government allows the City to utilize resources, receive technical assistance, and apply for federally funded CLG grants. The last time a grant was sought by the City was in 2016.
To maintain status, CLGs are required to hold four (4) Historic Resources Preservation Board meetings in a fiscal year. Throughout the fiscal year of 2026, staff attempted to hold Historic Resources Preservation Board meetings but quorum could not be met. Therefore, no meeting was held during 2026 fiscal year. CLG report should be submitted to the Bureau of Historic Preservation; Division of Historical Resources.
Currently there are no programs or services for which grant funding is required. But losing CLG status prevents the City from taking advantage of the CLG program, such as available funding opportunities.
