Proposed Resolution No. R26-167- Approving a Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement (MMOA) between the City and the Florida Department of Transportation, and approving a State Highway Lighting, Maintenance, and Compensation Agreement between the City and the Florida Department of Transportation, for streetlight maintenance along state-owned right-of-way corridors within city limits.
Staff recommends approval of the proposed Resolution No. R26-167.
The purpose of this request is to obtain City Commission approval to enter into the State Highway Lighting, Maintenance, and Compensation (SHLMC) Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Under this agreement, the City will continue to operate and maintain the streetlighting systems along state-owned right-of-way corridors within city limits, and FDOT will financially compensate the City for these ongoing maintenance efforts. The term for this SHLMC Agreement is seven (7) years.
Within the city limits, Boynton Beach Blvd, Federal Hwy, E Ocean Ave, and State Rd A1A are currently owned by FDOT.

If this item is approved by the City Commission and accepted by FDOT, the City will receive $172,041.79 from FDOT for streetlight maintenance in FY 2027. Compensation shall increase by 3% each fiscal year.
